I have a commercial auto claim. What should I do?

Auto Claim Reporting Instructions

  • Call Becky Cummings at Connell Insurance.  She will take all information needed to report the claim to the carrier:

  • Is it after normal business hours?
    • If it’s an emergency situation, call 800-356-8140 to speak to our 24-hour service center.  They will get things started until you can speak to Becky.
  • Was an employee injured?
    • If so, also complete the First Notice of Loss form for your state.
  • If your vehicle is still drive-able, please obtain two estimates of damages – this will help to expedite your claim.
  • Relax, this is what we do.  Contact Becky with any questions or concerns during your claim process.

“What happens next?”

Becky will send the claim to the carrier, where it will be assigned to an adjuster.  Once an adjuster has been assigned, Becky will contact you to provide the adjuster’s contact information.

I have a commercial property claim. What should I do?

  • Is it after normal business hours?
    • If it’s an emergency situation, call 800-356-8140 to speak to our 24-hour service center.  They will get things started until you can speak to Becky.
  • If possible, take photos of the scene and/or get repair estimates.  Once you have these, please send copies to Becky.
  • Are any temporary repairs needed to prevent further losses or damage from occurring?
    • You may immediately proceed with temporary repairs to prevent further damages – but do not begin any final repairs.

“What happens next?”

Becky will send the claim to the carrier, where it will be assigned to an adjuster.  Once an adjuster has been assigned, Becky will contact you to provide the adjuster’s contact information.

A guest incident just occurred on my property. What should I do?

General Liability Claim Reporting Instructions

  • Is it after normal business hours?  If it’s an emergency situation, call 800-356-8140 to speak to our 24-hour service center.  They will get things started until you can speak to Becky.
  • Does someone need medical attention?
    • They should seek care if needed, but the adjuster assigned to your claim is the only one who can give authorization on behalf of your carrier.
    • Advise the claimant that you will report to the carrier and an adjuster should be in contact with them ASAP, usually within 24-36 hours.
    • DO NOT admit fault or accept any liability.
    • DO NOT tell claimant that medical bills will be paid for them.
  • Is there a witness?
    • Get a statement from them in writing.  **Becky can provide Guest Incident Report forms if needed.
  • In the event of an alleged slip/fall incident, take photos of the area where the incident occurred.
  • In the event of an alleged food borne illness, make a copy of the guest check.

I have an injured worker. What should I do?

  • If the employee is asking for, or needs immediate medical treatment, send them to the medical provider for care.
  • Complete the First Report of Injury form for your State.
