Springfield – City, County Release Details of Phase One Business Reopening Plan
The City of Springfield, Greene County, and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department on Thursday described details of local plans to begin the gradual reopening of the economy.
For several weeks, your Chamber has been working to advocate for business as local leaders develop plans. We’ve reached out to and heard from many local businesses. This input is very valuable as we work together as a community to balance safety considerations of employees and customers with ongoing economic hardships, and allow some businesses to reopen while keeping social distancing measures in place. Retail businesses will need to adhere to occupancy restrictions, and personal care businesses will have additional restrictions to protect personal safety.
The new guidelines take effect on Monday, May 4, and will last for 30 days; during that time, local officials will evaluate the measures’ effectiveness based on review of the metrics on the Health Department’s COVID-19 Recovery Dashboard, which help inform decisions about when to take the next steps in a staged reopening.
To help determine the number of people allowed in your business during this initial phase of reopening, the Chamber has developed a calculator tool based on the guidelines provided by the city and county.
