Urgent Unemployment News for Employers

As businesses begin to reopen and employees are called back to work, it’s important for both the employer and the employee to know the circumstances under which the employee can refuse to return to work and continue to collect state and federal unemployment benefits.

On Friday, May 1, the Missouri Department of Labor offered new guidance on the situation. The information includes details on when an employee continues to be covered by state and federal unemployment insurance, what to do if an employee who should be able to return to work refuses to return when called back from a temporary layoff or furlough, and more.
